Student Admission Criteria at Seven Star Health Sciences and Business College
Admission to Seven Star Health Science and Business College is governed by the admission requirements established annually by the FDRE Ministry of Education and, FDRE Education and Training Authority, and other regulatory body as well as the criteria stipulated in the Senate Legislation of the college. Any applicant seeking admission must fulfill the minimum academic and institutional requirements set for the respective academic year. The college categorizes applicants into three major groups’ undergraduate students and TVET level students.
First undergraduate students are those who have successfully completed Ethiopian Preparatory school (or equivalent for foreign students) and fulfill the academic year cutting point to enter higher education; and the 10+3 related training or Level IV related qualifications, including the required Certificate of Competency (COC)  in their field before the admission date. Their admission is based on the fulfillment of the Ministry of Education’s entry requirements and the college’s academic standards. Moreover, students who have obtained a first degree and fulfill the required admission criteria to learn anther degree are also eligible for admission.
The second category includes students applying for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs. These applicants must have completed Grade 12 education and satisfy the government’s entrance criteria for TVET education. The programs are designed to equip students with practical skills and professional competencies relevant to the labor market. The admission process for new students is conducted in accordance with the annual admission guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, ETA and other regulatory bodies. The college applies different admission procedures for regular and extension students.
Regular Student Admission
Students enrolling in the regular program are admitted only into fields of study that have been officially approved by the Education and Training Authority. Applicants seeking admission to undergraduate programs must have successfully completed preparatory education and meet the cut-off points established by the Ministry of Education for admission into higher education institutions. Applicants who graduated from technical and vocational training institutions and wish to upgrade their qualifications are required to pass the Certificate of Competency (COC) examination in their respective fields of study. The college also accepts students who completed their secondary education abroad, provided that their qualifications have been officially recognized by the Education and Training Authority.
Extension Student Admission
The extension or evening program is designed for students who wish to pursue higher education while managing work or other responsibilities. Admission to the extension program is limited to Business fields of study approved by the Education and Training Authority for evening education. Applicants seeking admission to undergraduate extension programs must have completed preparatory education and achieved the admission cut-off points specified by the Ministry of Education. Similarly, graduates of technical and vocational education programs who wish to continue their education through evening or distance learning must pass the Certificate of Competency (COC) examination in a related field of study.
